View of the Gothic Library of Emperor Nicholas II in the Winter Palace (State Hermitage Museum) in St. Petersburg.
Standing behind the rear table is a ceremonial portrait of Nicholas II, painted in 1896, by Ilya Savich Galkin (1860-1915).
On the desk is a porcelain sculpture portrait of Nicholas II, an identical copy of the original the biscuit porcelain bust of the Emperor completed in 1896 by the Russian sculptor Léopold Bernstamm.
