On 30th September 2023, a monument to Emperor Alexander II was installed in Labinsk, situated 145 km (90 mi) southeast of Krasnodar.
The original monument was installed on 26th August 1912. Following the 1917 Revolution, the monument was destroyed by the Bolsheviks.
The original cast-iron plates with the names of Cossack heroes were preserved and have been installed on the restored monument to the Tsar-Liberator.
