Фантастической красоты мозаичное оформление арочного свода в храме Рождества Иоанна Предтечи на Пресне.
Храм изначально построен в конце 17 века, но модерновые мозаики, конечно, появились здесь гораздо позже — в конце 19 либо в начале 20 века. С большой степенью вероятности это работа мастерской В. Васнецова.
Мозаичное убранство храма реставрировалось в 2019-20 гг, но в этой части (а арке) оно сохранилось практически без утрат, в первозданном виде. Я совсем не религиозна, но в данном случае размещение мозаик в храме даёт вау-эффект — в приглушённом свете от свечей они невероятно красиво блестят и переливаются. Фото этого не передаёт — приходите полюбоваться вживую!

Fantastic beauty of the mosaic decoration of the arched vault in the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist on Presnya.
The temple was originally built at the end of the 17th century, but Art nouveau mosaics, of course, appeared here much later — in the late 19th or early 20th centuries. With a high degree of probability, this is the work of the workshop of famous Russian painter V. Vasnetsov.
The mosaic decoration of the temple was restored in 2019-20, but in this part (the arch) they were preserved almost without loss, in their original form. I am not religious at all, but in this case the placement of mosaics in the temple gives a wow effect — in the subdued light from candles, they shine and shimmer incredibly beautifully. The photo does not convey this — come and admire it live!
