On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of their wedding in 1904 — Nicholas II presented Alexandra Feodorovna with one of Fabergé’s floral masterpieces.
The pansy flower is placed in a vase of rock crystal. The crystal is processed so skilfully that it the water looks real.
The flower featured 5 golden, enamel-covered flower petals. When pressed, they revealed miniature watercolour portraits of their five children, each of which is framed by tiny rose-cut diamonds.
