Sarykamysh is a town and a district of Kars Province in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey. It is known for the Battle of Sarikamysh an engagement between the Russian and Ottoman Empires during World War I.
The battle took place from 22nd December, 1914, to 17th January 1915, as part of the Caucasus Campaign. The battle resulted in a Russian victory!
