On 20th January 2024, a new bust of Emperor Alexander III was installed in Yalta, Crimea.
The brass bust-monument was a gift from the Association of Heroes of Russia. The bust was made by the famous Russian sculptor Alexander Alekseevich Apollonov (1947-2017), who has created numerous busts of the Romanov dynasty, and installed in cities across Russia.
The monument was installed on the square of the school which houses a caded corps named in honour of the “Tsar Peacemaker”. The local city council is currently considering renaming the school in honor of Emperor Alexander III.
