Badge of the Retinue of Emperor Nicholas II
On 24th January 1909, the badge «For Service in the Retinue of Nicholas II» was created and approved. The right to wear this sign was given to adjutants, general-adjutants and major generals.
The badge was worn on the right side of the chest. The badge is a wreath of oak and laurel branches tied with a ribbon. In the center of the wreath is the monogram of the Emperor himself under the crown.
The colour of the badge (a combination of silver-gold) depended on the number of years of service in the rank of retinue and the title itself: the badge of the adjutant general is a gold wreath, the crown and monogram; the silver badge of the major general and the adjutant wing is a silver wreath, the crown and monogram are gold.
